RESUMO
In this study, a 76-year-old man initially diagnosed with branch-duct pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous tumor is presented. During follow-up, stenosis was discovered in the main pancreatic duct of the tail. A nodular lesion was found in the pancreatic duct consistent with the stenosis. Distal pancreatectomy was performed since it was suspected to be malignant. Histopathology revealed polymorphic mononuclear cells proliferated with osteoclast-like giant cells in the nodule. The patient was finally diagnosed with anaplastic pancreatic cancer with osteoclast-like giant cells, a relatively rare tumor. It is reported herein with a review of the literature.

FeCl3-mediated oxidative fusion of meso-linked dibenzo[a,g]corannulene-porphyrin dyads 6M afforded fused porphyrins 7M bearing a five-membered ring connection, but similar oxidation of ß-linked dyads 9M provided fused porphyrins 10M bearing a six-membered ring connection, both in a regiospecific manner. While fused dyads 10M exhibit modestly red-shifted absorption and fluorescence profiles, fused dyads 7M display characteristically red-shifted absorption bands reflecting antiaromatic dehydropurpurin electronic networks.
RESUMO
A Pd-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of Si-stereogenic dibenzosiloles is developed through enantioselective C-H bond functionalization of prochiral 2-(arylsilyl)aryl triflates. High chemo- and enantioselectivities are achieved by employing a Josiphos-type ligand under mild conditions.
RESUMO
Enantioselective direct aldol reaction of α-substituted nitroacetates with aqueous formaldehyde for the synthesis of α-alkyl serines has been achieved under base-free neutral phase-transfer conditions with a bifunctional chiral phase-transfer catalyst.
